The holidays are almost here, and I’m already dreaming of skiing, Mariah Carey and a little less screen time. But before we dive into the season’s festivities, let’s wrap up the year by thinking ahead to 2025 content planning!
As we head into the new year, here are the content types to focus on:
✨ Educational Content - I’m always a fan of this one! Educational content is the foundation of knowledge-sharing. Whether it’s a tutorial, a how-to guide, or a deep dive into an interesting topic, it empowers your audience with new insights and skills. It’s more than just sharing information—it’s about showing how your content can be practically applied in real life. And KEEP IT SIMPLE!
✨ Visual Content - Who doesn’t love a good REEL? Visual content adds an eye-catching spark to your social presence. Engaging videos, stunning images, and carousels (don’t forget, these are higher value than single-image posts!) should be a big part of your strategy. Carousels get extra exposure because the algorithm shows various slides. If I’m one of your followers, I might see slide 1 today and slide 3 tomorrow—perfect for keeping your content fresh!
✨ Interactive Content - In 2025, engagement should be a two-way street. Interactive content polls, quizzes and stories have been around for a while, but have you tested a broadcast channel yet? This is where followers can actively participate in conversations with you or others. It helps you better understand your audience and drives greater engagement. The more you know about your followers, the better your strategy will be!
✨ Storytelling Content - Stories are powerful tools for building connections. We all love stories, and they’re one of the best ways to get your audience to connect emotionally with your brand. Rather than resharing your feed posts with a “new post” sticker, try spreading your message across several stories. With more than half a billion Instagram users watching Stories daily, your followers will appreciate the personal touch.
So, consider weaving a blend of these types when crafting your content strategy. Mix the educational gems with visually stunning elements, add a touch of interactivity, and wrap it all up in a compelling story. This way, you can make the online experience richer, more engaging, and more meaningful.

🎉 Year-in-Review – Take the time to reflect on 2024—what you’ve accomplished, the milestones reached, and the incredible growth of your community. People love a good recap!
🎅 Holiday-Themed Stories – Use interactive stickers to engage your audience—ask about their holiday plans, traditions, or trivia questions.
🍾 Celebrate Wins & Gratitude – As we close out 2024, share your gratitude for the year and the people who’ve helped you get there. Ask your followers to share their own wins and milestones.
