I hope everyone had a wonderful back to routines month of September.
With the crisp air settling in and spooky season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to refresh your Instagram Bio AND work on October content planning. 🍂🎃
Your bio is like a billboard — people can scroll past it in a flash, so it needs to be spot-on for the information to truly resonate and convince them to hit that follow button.
Dial in Your Instagram Bio: The 4-4-3 Rule ⤵️
4️⃣ Lines in the Bio
If you go over 4 lines in your bio, Instagram cuts it off with a “…more” button, meaning potential followers have to do extra work to see it all! ❌ Instead, be concise and direct — keep it to 4 lines or less. Every word should serve a purpose, and don’t forget to include keywords related to your niche — Remember, Instagram is a search engine.
4️⃣ Story Highlights
Have a hundred and one Story Highlights? Chances are people won’t scroll through them all unless they're stalking you. So, make your first 4 highlights count by focusing on what’s most important:
Start Here
About Me / About The Biz
What you do / What you sell
Testimonials / Examples / Before-and-Afters
3️⃣ Pinned Posts
People often choose their most-viewed post to pin, but that’s not always the best move! Instead, your pinned posts should offer a clear introduction to your brand:
Start Here / Self-Introduction
Lead Magnet / Promotion
Exemplary Post / What people can expect from your content
Bonus Tips:
Profile Photo: Make sure your profile picture is clear, professional, and recognizable! Whether it’s your logo or your own photo, it should reflect your brand and be consistent across platforms.
Call-to-Action: Add a strong CTA in your bio, like “DM for inquiries” or “Click the link below for more info.” Make it easy for followers to know how to connect with you.
