The importance of UGC in your content strategy

In the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to connect with their audience and stand out amidst online content noise.

One such avenue that often proves to be a goldmine yet remains underutilized by many is User Generated Content (UGC).

WHAT IS UGC:

Far beyond just a trend, UGC has emerged as a powerful tool for brands to foster

authenticity, build trust and drive engagement with their target audience. Let's delve into the world of UGC and uncover how it can revolutionize your marketing strategy.

It is original, brand-specific content created by social media users and published on social media. It can take many forms, such as videos, photos, testimonials, or even podcasts.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF UGC:

That's simple—organic or paid. As a business owner, nothing makes my eyes and heart light up more than seeing a client share about a successful training session they completed with me. So, how can I use this in my marketing strategy?

SHARE IT with the world like this lovely client did in her stories!

THE TWO TYPES:

ORGANIC:

Organic UGC is content that your real-life customers or clients share freely. It is the most authentic type and what you hope to see from your customers.

PAID:

Paid UGC differs from influencer marketing and is typically just as sincere as regular UGC—you're just footing the bill.

WHY UGC IS SO INFLUENTIAL:

Ask yourself this: Would you rather purchase a new skin cream or workout leggings from one of those Kardashian/Jenners or someone similar to you? This is why UGC is so incredible: Someone similar to your ideal client or customer has made a recommendation.

WHEN DO USE UGC:

UGC is used across all stages of the buyer’s journey to help influence engagement and increase conversions. This customer-centric content can be used on your social media, email campaigns and even website landing pages.

WHY UGC IS CLUTCH:

One word: Authenticity

With the crazy amount of online content shared daily, competition is intense for small businesses to get noticed. People are so informed these days about brands and are much more choosy about where they will spend their hard-earned money.

No other type of content is as authentic as UGC. 86% of consumers are more likely to trust a brand that shares UGC compared to 12% who are likely to purchase a product promoted by influencers. It's the modern-day word of mouth — most people trust recommendations over straight-up advertising.
