Can you believe it? With the summer sun taking a bit of a breather and the leaves getting ready to show off their fall wardrobe, I've been thinking about how cool change can be. How's your summer been? I hope it's been a wild ride of awesome moments. Mine? Well, I've been mixing it up with family adventures, loads of fun with my girlfriends and some serious nature hangouts. ☀️


September is about to tiptoe in, and it's that time again—time to dive into content planning for the upcoming month. But before we ride those September waves, let's pause and chat about something that's been on my mind—REELS. Can you believe REELS has been around for three years now? 🎂


Here are a few stats to chew on:

  • Reels Interaction: Around 2.35 billion people engage with Instagram Reels every month.

  • Projected User Growth: Instagram is expected to reach 2.5 billion Monthly Active Users by the end of 2023, indicating that more people will interact with Reels in the future.

  • Engagement Boost: Reels receive 22% more interaction compared to standard video posts.

  • Age Demographics: The majority of Reels' audience falls within the 25 to 34 age group.

  • Perception of Similarity: 87% of Gen Z consider Reels and TikTok to be quite similar.

  3. Stand Up To Cancer Day (September 10): This could be a personal post about your own story. A day to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. #KissCancerGoodbye

  4. National Grandparents Day (September 12): A day to honour and appreciate grandparents and their contributions to families and society. Let's give a shout-out to Grandma and Grandpa! #NationalGrandparentsDay

  5. First Day of Fall (September 23): Celebrate the changing of seasons. Share how your business is embracing the change of the season ie: new merch, new promos, etc. #FirstDayOfFall

  6. National Pancake Day (September 26): A day to celebrate and indulge in delicious pancakes. Create a REEL of your favourite pancake recipe! #NationalPancakeDay

  7. National Women’s Health and Fitness Day (September 29): A day to promote women's health and encourage fitness activities. Share a video of you or you and your team participating in fun physical activity. #WomensHealthFitnessDay

  8. Truth and Reconciliation Day (September 30): A day to raise awareness about the history and legacy of residential schools in Canada. We as biz owners have a voice and an audience so it's important we do something on this day. #OrangeShirtDay
